Balanced Leadership
McRel's 21 Responsibilities (1st & 2nd Order Change)
As an Educational Leader, it is important to know how to go about working through first and second order change. As a Strategic Leader, I believe it is important to know what responsibilities are going to aid in the change process. The 1st & 2nd Order Change Diagram is a tool that I will use to determine what responsibilities I will focus on employing when addressing a first or second order change as a leader. As a leader I will use this diagram as a tool to keep my committee members and myself focused on the correct responsibilities/actions so that we can make the most meaningful and positive impact as a committee.

Using Leadership Responsibilities Together
As an Educational Leader, it is important to know how to use the 21 Responsibilities of Balanced Leadership together to help solve problems. As a Strategic Leader, I believe it is important to have an outline to help you know what responsibilities are going to aid in the change process. The Responsibilities Together Diagram helps identify the problem as well as the three responsibilities that will be used to address the problem. As a leader I will use this diagram as a tool to keep my committee members and myself focused on the correct responsibilities/actions so that we can make the most meaningful and positive impact on problems and challenges.

School Improvement Project Field Notes
As an Educational Leader, it is important to be able to guide committee’s through the use of structured notes. As an Instructional Leader, I believe that it is important make sure that members of a committee can be focused on objectives and goals. I filled out the SIP Project Field Notes as a way to help members of the committee and myself stay on track. This also allowed me to make sure that I was using the Balanced Leadership Responsibilities to help overcome any obstacles. As an Instructional Leader I will continue to use the Field Notes to help organize information, efforts, and keep the committee focused.
